About
Each bloom uses one of the 150 flowers in R’s iris dataset. Petal length and width shape the three upright petals; sepal length and width shape the three spreading falls. Every flower uses the same drawing scale before bending and folding. A partly opened flower shows that measured shape folded in view.
The seed chooses real records and their arrangement. Stems, leaves, colour and the order of appearance are artistic choices. The dataset has no growth times: this is a drawing unfolding, not a simulation of how irises grow.
Film colours draw on Karthik Ram’s Wes Anderson palettes.
The optional check-in uses the Affective Slider, a published affect measure. Its connection to the artwork is a design choice. You do not need to check in or follow the breathing guide to make the art. This is a breathing and art tool, not a treatment for a mental health condition.
